The organization exists in Poland since 2002. Before the organization was set up, many young Poles had been working for les petits freres des Pauvres (Little Brothers of the Poor) in France, which had organized holidays for their elderly each year. The cooperation led to establishing friendship between the association and them. After a few years of experience in work abroad, some of them took up an idea to set up a similar organization in Poland. Finally, the seminar “Let’s give up the loneliness of those who suffer it”, was held in Warsaw between 31st of November and 1st of December 2002. It gathered the Polish volunteers of les petits freres des Pauvres, the representatives from France and the International Federation of the Little Brothers of the Poor, and other Polish volunteers which work in Social Aid Houses and the Center of Volunteers. At the meeting, it was decided to set up the organization in three cities: in Poznań, Warsaw and Lublin. The organization had not been registered in the State Judiciary Register until 6th of May 2003, but it has started to pursuit their goals since December 2002. At the present, we still exist in these three cities and develop our organization. |
